Hi moms...I was thinking of taking my boys age 4 y/o and almost 3 y/o to the Walking with Dinosaurs show in October. I've been to the webite and it looks cool and realistic, but i'm wondering if it's too realistic for small children, scaring them? I know the tour is new, but wondered if anyone had any insight? Thanks...

Hi D.,

We found some video from a performance in Australia on UTube. I don't have the link anymore, but if you do a search on the name Walking with Dinosaurs you'll probably find it. You can see for yourself what goes on. My little girl (3) thought it was cool getting to see them on the computer and she really liked seeing the life-sized dinosaurs in the DinoAlive exhibit that was at Fort Worth Zoo last summer and in McKinney in January. She wasn't afraid of those even though they roared and their heads moved a bit. I would think if your boys love dinosaurs, they'd love seeing this show. I wish it wasn't so darned expensive though!! That sounds like fun! We just got back from a vacation to Colorado and we took our 3 y/o son to Journey Dinosaur Museum near Grand Junction, which had some realistic and graphic exhibits. Our son had a blast and understood it was all pretend, not at all real. He had a great time and still talks about his "dionsaur journey".

Walking with dinosaurs sounds like fun! Good luck!!

We saw that too - my husband emailed them about that very thing - we have a 3-year old. They said it's appropriate for about all ages, but suggested we get seats kind of far away so we're not right up there in the middle of the action. We're on the front of the 3rd deck.

Hi D., as a matter of fact my boys now 4y/o and 2y/o saw it in Seattle, WA this summer. We all had a fun time. My 2 y/o was a little scared but he is ususally afraid of new things. But it is an awesome show and I think your boys will really enjoy it. We were so excited to see that it will be here and plan on going again:)

We saw something similar at the Heard Museum when my daughter had just turned 3 . She loved it and we had to go around twice. There were other little kids that were scared though.

We are going with our 5 and 2 yr olds. We did a yahoo video search for "walking with dinosaurs" and it comes up with a lot of actual footage from the shows. Have the kids watch them and see if they will be scared. I think that age will be fine.

Hey D.. I had never heard of this but I went and looked it up and I am so beyond excited and we will be going. We are taking our 1 year old. I think your kiddos will be just fine as long as you aren't sitting right in front of the stage and after looking at available tickets today I don't think you would be. We will be in section 200 which should be perfect. I hope you take them. I bet they will love it!! I am thinking of taking my nephews. They are twin 4 yr old boys and they love dinosaurs! Hope you enjoy it!
