So I was looking at pools and I started looking at the big above ground pools. Any web site advice? Places to get really good prices for a good quality pool? I don't want to spend over $1000, but would ideally like to spend $5-600. Are there pools that come like complete kits like some of the intex pools do? Any input about it is cool.

Does anyone have the intex 18' x 48" above ground easy setup pool? It's $350 which seems like a good price (??) and there are good reviews so I was wonderin if any mommas out there have one and like it.

I'm not a good swimmer so below my height (60") is the best pool for me to get because my daughter is going to learn how to swim (parent/toddler lessons) so she'll be good with her floaties and can grow with it (if that makes sense) but above my height and I will be in trouble haha.

We have the Intex 16x48 metal frame pool and this will be our fourth year putting it up. We've really had so much fun with it! Both our boys learned to swim in it and our daughter will probably this summer too (she's only been home for 3mos so she hasn't been in it yet!)

Just make sure you educate yourself on how to keep the water treated. We do two really good shocks on our water when its fully filled and run the filter for 48hrs straight and nobody in the pool, then we put in the chlorine float and treat for ph, then we shock once every other week. Our water has never turned green and has never had to be drained. Its very easy to upkeep.

If you can spend $500, I would recommend looking into one of the Intex pools with the salt filter. No chemicals and the yare easier to maintain. We also bought a solar cover for ours for $40 because we live in Minnesota and it was hard to keep the water warm overnight sometimes. The solar cover keeps the water warm even in cooler temps (maintains temp) and it gets the water in the high 80's for comfy swimming even on cooler days!

We had an Intex pool that lasted 4 years. My girls learned to swim in that pool. Ours was the 15' x 42" round, but if I ever get another Intex (I WISH! our new township has ALL SORTS of ridiculous requirements that prevent us from legally putting up even a temporary pool), it will be the larger 18' x 52". We absolutely LOVED having that pool, and putting it up and taking it down was a breeze!

We have an Intex pool, not sure of the size (18x36?). I beleive we paid around $250 three years ago. We absolutely love it, and it is worth every penny.

It's a lot of work each year with set up and take down, but maintaining it is fairly easy. Also, they only last about 3 years.
