A Better Straw Sipper Cup

Hi. I have recently started my daughter on a straw sipper cup because she couldn't hold up a regular sipper cup enough to get a drink. The kind of cup we got was a double pack (Nuby) that has the flexible straw on the outside and a rigid straw on the inside. The problem is the straw doesn't go to the bottom of the cup, it leaves about an inch of space, so she can't get all the liquid out that was inside. It frustrates her and wastes milk or juice. It also leaks. If anyone has any experience with these and has a better one, please let me know. Thanks for all the help.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I went ahead and got a Gerber Cool Twisties cup. It opens better and doesn't seem to spill as much. The straw also reaches to the bottom of the cup, so nothing is wasted. Thanks to all the Moms for your suggestions!!

I recently bought my daughter a Gerber Cool Twisties Cup. I think we have only used it once so far, but she likes it. I don't think it leaked when she used it. I can't remember how far the straw goes down in the cup, maybe you can see in the store.

My mom also recently bought her one of the Nuby straw cups. It was HORRIBLE! My daughter still tries to tilt the cup up to drink even though there is a straw, and when she did this with this Nuby cup, her water or milk just poured right out the air flow hole at the top! I just looked on the Nuby Web site at their description of this cup... "Parents never need to worry about any messes with a Nûby™ No-Spill™ Straw: No Spills! No Leaks! No Mess!" Boy is this a lie!!

J..... YES, YES, YES... I have the cup for you.
The Tupperware child cups. I don't sell them and don't know who does but my sister gave me some that she bought in the mall off one of those carts that sit in the middle of the walk way. It has some kind of rubber around the opening where the straw comes out and if it drops or turns over it doesn't spill. It seems to allow all the juice to be sucked out. I am not sure how much is enough for you.
But do try these cups. The lids that go on are really tight too. I love them. They come in really small and larger.
Got to the mall and see if they are still out in the middle of the mall. I would think with Xmas coming that they would be. If not, try looking it up on the internet and see if you can find someone that sells them. Even better, put a question on here and ask who sells Tupperware or if anyone knows someone that does. You will really like those cups!

we to started using the gerber twisties just recently. The only time they leak is if the top ever comes off, somehow my daughters came off the first one we got and i went and bought more over the weekend to replace her other sippies since i can't find the valves anymore. I duno if they reach teh bottom or not but normally my dd will always have a sip left in her cups that contain floaties and i just dump that out(kinda gross to me to have her drink that) these are cups that out of all of ours i LOVE the best and dd seems to do better with them than any other straw ones

Munchkin makes some that we love (we have a few Dora ones and another insulated kind). They don't leak and are easy to clean... My almost-3-yo daughter has been using them for ages & my 11-month-old daughteer would rather use them than the soft-spouted ones. They travel great also! Hope it help :)

I have had this same exact problem. All my daughter drinks from are straw cups, and I stocked up on about 5 of the Nuby cups. We have wasted more juice and milk in those things. I finally found a Dora cup made by Munchkin that has a straw that reaches to the bottom. The only thing is the straw in it is extremely hard to get in and out to wash. We also use some of the hard straw cups with Disney Princesses on them, but the straw is too hard for her to run around and drink with. Im scared she will poke her eye out or something with it. If you find any really good ones, please let me know. Im still searching, too.

We have used "The First Years" cups with straws for years. You can get them at WalMart in the baby section for about 3.00 a pack. They are actually labeled as disposable cups, but we wash and re-use them. My daughter is now 6 (and rather accident prone), but we can still use them without her feeling like a baby. Hope this helps!

Give her a real cup with a real straw. When my daughter had her 1st birthday bottles and sippy cup went out the door. She does just fine with the same cups my husband and I use and it cleaner. You dont have to spend all that extra money for the stupid cups.
