60Th Birthday Party Ideas?

My mom is turning 60 next month and we're doing the typical dinner because that's what she wants and she is adamant about it. I want to do something to make it memorable, so I'm making a movie using Windows moviemaker. I'm almost finished with it and it's great! I divided it up into categories (Mom in love, Mom as a mom, Mom as a grandma, Mom having fun - crazy pictures, etc.) and I have great music with it. It isn't chronological, so you never know what's coming next. I think she'll be very surprised and will love it. I'm putting it on a DVD so she can watch it on her TV and I'm making copies for my brother and I and her siblings as party favors. Maybe you could do something like that and have it playing at the party. Have fun celebrating!

What a wonderful thing to do! Could you put together a memory book for him? pics and comments of his life and from his friends/family? I don't know what he likes to do to help with the 'where' but would love to help........I will be....drumroll, please, 59 this year.......did he grow up around here? I might have some more ideas..........fun fun fun

The movie maker thing is great and we have it on our computer and I am making a music slide show for my mom for her 45th birthday... as far as a party have you thought of maybe something retro what year did he grow up in the 50's? DO A 50'S sock hop theme with oldies music and have everyone dress up in 50 cloths and the men wear tight white shirts with their ciggerates rolled up in the sleves...LOL...you could get him and his wife or lady friend dance the jitterbug, or the swing or whatever dance was popular in his time and take him back to those days. That woould be really fun and really memorable and to add a special touch do that windows movie maker and everyone can gather around and watch it in your T.V. I am sure that will bring laughter and happy tears and it will be inforgettable. The most important thing though is to give him your time...time is precious and so is love...good luck

I just went to a party that had belly dancers. There was a lot of initial skepticism from other people about it too, but it was a lot of fun...for a good humored group. Initially the belly dancers danced and then everyone danced and had a great time.
