2 Year Old B-day Party

I have some advice on a 2 year old b-day party. I have a 3 year old and on her b-day last year we went to McDonalds and had it there it was in expensive. It cost me and my husbend about $55 or $60 for the party. The good thing is you get to have as many people you can and I don't think it cost extra. You don't have to provide anything like the cake or party favors but you might want to get another cake just in case that is not enough but it was for us just depends on how many people you want to invite to her party. We had my two year old little girl's party at The Little Gym and it was awesome! They have several around the area, but the north Fort Worth one on Beach is the one I recommend. Everyone there is wonderful! They did everything except the cake. They will send the invitations, set up everything, take down everything, etc. Here is the link to the site for more info.

I think total it was about $200.00. We had 7 kids that ranged from 2 years old to 12 years old. They all had a blast. They have something there for all of them. It was just so nice to not have to worry about anything, and be able to watch your daughter have fun!

Ask your teenage girls. My almost 17 year old and her friends are a great source of "you know what would be cute..." moments. My boys are 7 and 3, and sometimes I get too caught up with the resposibilities of being a grown up to "think cute". The girls spark my creativity. Also, plan a few games and activities, but be willing to ditch half of them if one activity really takes off. Remember, it's just about fun, itineraries can go out the window. :)

It depends on her tastes and also on the ages of the other children who will be going. If it's just a couple of other 2 year olds, keep it simple, but if varying ages will be there, having more activities to keep them all interested would work.

We always did arts and crafts at my parties, even at her age she can help. Everyone can make sock puppets, get little pompoms, buttons and beady eyes and other fun things (so long as she isn't still in the putting things in her mouth stage), and they can make them, then at the end, they can put on a puppet show for each other.

I personally refuse to do extravagent parties every year, sometimes, the simple ones are more fun. But having a really special one every now and then is wonderful too.

I have a friend who does princess parties that boys like too. I have never asked how much she charges, but she takes care of the entertainment and everything.

My daughter is turning 3 next month. We are going to her favorite neighborhood restaurant (Mexicali) for a fajita lunch w/ 2 of her friends and their family.
She is #4 of 4- this is her party year. our kids only get parties every other year and we limit the budget to $100. On "off" years the birthday child gets to have a friend over for dinner and a movie- they get to choose the menu and movie. Of course there is cake (That I make and we decorate here) and ice cream.

Mc Donalds was a great 2 year old party place- we bought the kids a Happy Meal and let them play and play.

The park is another favorite, with cake or cupcakes and bubbles to blow.

I also have chosen not to give out goodie bags- they get really expensive and are usually filled w/ things that get tossed anyway.

When my daughter turned two we decided that we were just going to take her someplace special(it was in the summer so we went to a water park that caters to little ones. It was a fun time for her. Then for dinner we just invited a couple of close friends and her grandparents over for pizza and cake. It was inexpensive and she had a great time and wasn't overwhelmed! My 2 year old loves the bounce houses so I just rented one of those and invited all of our family and a couple of friends over for a cookout. It was cheap and she loved it along with all the older kids. They just took turns with the otherlittle ones in there. I didn't invite a bunch of 2 year olds but between me, my sis and my bf there were 10 kids varying from 2-13 years plus a couple of the neighbors that play with her. They all had a blast.
I went to another party where it was all little kids and they finger painted aprons that the mom got and everyone got to take it home with them. They also decorated their own cupcakes. Needless to the say the party was outside but it was fun.

good rule of thumb...one friend for every year old the child will be. so your little princess should have nomore than two friends at her party.... keep the cake simple, instead of little goody bags, try just buying a toy from the dollar store for the two little kids who will be her guests, the moms will probly apriciate that there is no little toys and no candy to sort through and you can usually find something decent at dollar general for 1-2 dollars that the kids will love....dont go overboard with decor, some baloons should be fine (make sure you have one that each kid can take home,if their moms will allow it, i know my little girl freaks for baloons all the time...) best time would be right after lunch since thats usually when the kids would be up from naps, and not hungry

A friend of mine has a pajama breakfast party at 9:00 am for the kids. All the close friends and their parents come over and eat waffles and have juice and coffee. The kids play in the house and yard. Everyone stands around chatting while they make waffles on their waffle iron.

Sounds very fun for little ones and alot less stressful!!
Plus you are finished early and can do other things with your day.

We hired Party Pets for my son's 2 year old party last June and it was a great party! The pets were set up in our back yard inside a little round fence. The toddlers could go inside the fence with the animals, and they were able to hold and pet them. Each child even got their own poloroid shot of themselves holding their favorite pet. We had my daughter's 2nd birthday party at our neighborhood park. She loved it so much that we also had her 3rd and 4th birthday parties there! We made cupcakes and had some snack food. We gave out party favors that could be used at the park. One year we did sidewalk chalk and one year we did sand toys. Kids of all ages had a blast and it was low key and enjoyable for the adults as well. It was also very low-cost.

I see that someone else posted about The Little Gym, but I wanted to second that opinion. We've been having my little girl's b-day parties there since she was 2 (she turned 4 a few months ago). They do practically everything, and tailor the activities so they're age-appropriate. All you need to do is bring the cake, any other food/drinks & any decorations that you want. The kids have a blast, and the parents love it as the kids all get a chance to burn off excess energy (!) Enjoy!

Have her party at a local park and have cupcakes and balloons for the kids. Then there are activities to keep the kids occupied, and a picnic table for you to put things on. It's usually pretty cheap or free to reserve a pavilion. Then you don't have to clean beforehand or worry about spills on your carpet! You could take bubbles and balls to play with too!
